The perfect number of buttons for a suit cannot be determined since different suits encounter different number. But in most cases the number does not exceeds four. It is the optimum level of buttons used. It is also conventional that the buttons are placed in the left side of the coat. Contrasting color of buttons is used in recent days to enhance the appearance and the trend.
